Securing Your Data
All forms on our donation pages asking for confidential information (such as credit card numbers or checking account info) utilize the Internet security protocol known as “Secure Sockets Layer” or “SSL.” This is kind of encryption technology is designed to make using your personal information and credit card as safe as possible on the Internet.

While no platform of commerce is 100% safe, research indicates that statistically speaking, using a credit card on the internet through SSL technology provides greater security than submitting your credit card at a brick and mortar store, or over an open telephone line.

Whenever making a donation make sure the web address read "https://" as opposed to "http://". If you are using a browser that recognizes SSL, you will generally receive a message and/or see a symbol, such as a lock, in the address window that indicates you are on a secure page. Any information you provide on that secure page is sent over the Internet through encrypted technology. If your browser doesn't support SSL technology, you should see an error message when trying to access the SSL on our donation page.
