From Devastation to Resilience

Altadena, California

After the Eaton Fire swept through parts of Altadena and Pasadena, hundreds of minority-owned small businesses were left devastated—many with no clear path forward. Thousands of jobs are now at risk, and families already struggling to make ends meet are facing even greater uncertainty. In response, we’ve launched the Dena Business Resilience Project, coming alongside affected entrepreneurs with relational support, practical resources, and a long-term vision for recovery. This quarter, we connected with over 50 business owners to listen, understand their most urgent needs, and begin building trust. In collaboration with local chambers of commerce, business networks, and community leaders, we’re preparing workshops, mentorship, and peer support to help these entrepreneurs rebuild—not just their businesses, but their lives.
