Meet Favor | How Training is Changing Favor's Trajectory

Lilongwe, Malawi

In Malawi, over 90% of jobs are in the informal economy—where income is often unstable, and opportunities to grow are limited. For many families, this means living day to day, with little margin to weather setbacks, let alone plan for the future.

Favor Jones, a third-year student at African Bible College, was selling used cars on a small scale, but his business lacked consistency. Without a clear strategy for engaging customers or understanding their needs, it was difficult to generate a reliable income.

All that began to change when he joined Hope Business Hub—our local partner—and became part of their current training cohort, which began in February. Through the training, he is learning to understand customer needs, communicate value clearly, and take practical steps toward growth.

As his thinking shifts, so does his direction. Favor is now building a T-shirt printing business and has begun selling golf shirts and stocking T-shirts.

Favor's story is still unfolding, but the trajectory is clear—he is building a more stable and sustainable future.

Thank you for investing in people like Favor!

Through Hope Ventures’ training, I’m not just learning a skill. I’m gaining confidence, clarity, and the tools I need to turn my dream of a T-shirt printing business into a real and sustainable source of income.
